I began getting messages from AOL telling me my free AOL was being discontinued and to be able to access 'My favorites' and info stored on AOL I would have to purchase the AOL gold at 4.99 a month. I did and was unable to download it, after several tries I called AOL and the representative looked at my computer and told me I had problems, a missing driver, a virus, etc and for $350.00 he would fix it so I could have AOL gold.

I told him no that I couldn't afford the $350. and to just cancel my subscription to AOL Gold. This morning I noticed AOL charged me $5.25 for a month of Gold...again I it cancelled but refused to refund my money.

What a bunch of nonsense. My sister in law has the free AOL and she is still able to use instant messaging and everything else.

Product or Service Mentioned: Aol Gold Desktop Application.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Monetary Loss: $5.

Preferred solution: Full refund.

I didn't like: Forced to accept a new version or lose data, Being forced to use aol gold or lose aol, Not as good as previous free version.
