AOL was bad to begin with. With the new AOL Gold, it's even worse now than ever before.

Too many features have been left out of AOL Gold to a point that it is now almost useless to me. I cannot forward pages or links; takes too long to load; the AOL screen blinks too much and malfunctions; it won't give me my email when using an Android device (can't find AOL servers). I think I will be forced to cancel AOL this month and before my next payment is due.

For the price that AOL charges, they need to provide something that is reliable and that works. So far, they are not.

Reason of review: Bad quality.

AOL Gold is indeed a tipoff. E-mail keeps disappearing and a lot of the good feature of 9.8 are gone, including the resize pictures and edit pictures options. What makes it worse is that AOL won't tell me why!

Ok I'm 75 now and have been with AOL almost 25 years. Technically I'm not the fastest car on the track but AOL GOLD takes the cake and I will probably dump them as soon as I'm comfortable with whatever replacement I settle on.

Although I have been terribly flustrated at times over the years when I've called the help desk I've always spoken with respect and been as courteous as possible even though the last few years I gladly paid extra for their help service.

I've had the same problems the others have had.

I phoned and on my first call the gentleman was most polite, I empowered him to access my computer which I've always done as all previously problems were corrected via remote evaluations and adjustments. This time he informed me it would take a while and if he could he would work on it and phone me back. I said fine and concluded that discussion.

Three hours later a "AOL Technician" phoned back and said they were done looking at my system and found nothing wrong. That is when I LOST IT - (after 20 plus years as a paying subscriber).

In each instance when I tried to describe my problem the technical support technician interrupted me saying, "Excuse me Charles - Listen to me Charles - Listen to me Charles - you're not listening Charles"! Not only would he interrupt but would talk over me. For the first time in too many years I felt young again as if I was in second grade being scolded and talked down to. Now when to suppliers start openly addressing their clients that way?

Then I asked why some of the changes had been made with no explaination nor instructions for us subscribers and why or where would I go to learn about these changes?

I was told it was not done nor made available because the changes were all improvements which made common sence and were easy to figure out and if it was impossible for us to figure it out just phone and ask for 'technical assistance' who would be 'happy' to help. I guess that must be a new unlisted number.

So Happy Thanksgiving AOL. You will not be eating this turkeys money any longer
